The Connected Human, Cardiff, 11th June 2014

Held as part of the Wales Festival of Innovation, the Connected Human event brought together an eclectic mix of speakers hailing from backgrounds as diverse as healthcare, industry, academia, cyber security, big data and sensor technology, to name but a few.

As the chairman, it was my pleasure to set the scene and introduce the speakers, tying the seemingly disparate topics into the concept of the Connected Human in order to keep everything in perspective and to provide a platform for later discussion. I also chaired the panel discussion at the conclusion of the event, in which the need for a change in attitude and culture from healthcare delivery to welfare assurance was highlighted.
